What is SAP Hana?

SAP HANA is a product from SAP AG. HANA stands for “High Performance Analytic Appliance” and is a technology and development platform with which companies can quickly evaluate large amounts of data. SAP was originally software, but with SAP HANA, SAP has developed an in-memory technology. This means that SAP HANA is not only software, but also hardware. Put simply, this means that the databases designed on the basis of in-memory technology do not hold the data on conventional storage devices, such as hard disks, but completely in the main memory (RAM - Random Access Memory).

The software stores and retrieves data from SAP HANA which are requested by other SAP applications. These data can be either structured or unstructured. Thanks to in-memory technology, they are stored and analysed faster than ever before.

The technology and speed of SAP HANA enables you to perform predictive analyses of, for example, products or customer behavior.
